SIPA S.200 Minijet

The SIPA S.200 Minijet was the first jet-powered light sport aircraft produced by the French manufacturer Société Industrielle Pour l' Aéronautique world.

History

The development of SIPA S.200 was started by Yves Gardan in February 1951. The first flight of the first of two prototypes took place on 14 January 1952. The second prototype was fitted with the option to attach the wing tip tanks, in order to increase the range.

A pre-production on five mini jets in 1955 / 56th Plans for the development of the model, however, were dropped.

Construction

The aircraft was a monoplane and had double tail booms with vertical stabilizers. The cage was placed in a central body and cable had two juxtaposed seats.

The SIPA S.200 was designed for aerobatics and is powered by a Turbomeca Palas jet engine with 1.5 kN thrust.
