SIPA S.300

The SIPA S.300 was a lightweight jet-powered trainer aircraft of the French manufacturer Société Industrielle Pour l' Aéronautique.

History and construction

The SIPA S.300 was probably the first jet aircraft that has been designed from the start as a beginner trainer aircraft. Alternatively, it could also be used as a quick liaison aircraft. The aircraft was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with tandem cockpit and fully glazed hood. The machine from a Turbomeca Palas turbojet with 1.57 kN was powered (350 lbf ) thrust. The S.300 launched, piloted by Max Fischl, on October 4, 1954 its first flight in 1955 and was first presented at the Paris Air Show. The prototype was destroyed on September 26, 1955 in a flying accident, after which the development was canceled.
