Sir Benjamin Collins Brodie, 1st Baronet
Sir Benjamin Collins Brodie ( born June 8, 1783 in London, † October 21, 1862 in Torquay ) was a British surgeon. He is the father of Benjamin Collins Brodie Jr., was a professor of chemistry at the University of Oxford.
Life and work
Brodie was in 1805 a member, from 1844 President of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 1819 he became professor of comparative anatomy in London. On February 18, 1810 Brodie was made a member of the Royal Society.
After Brodie of Brodie 's abscess and the neoplasm is named Brodie.
