Sir Christopher Sykes, 2nd Baronet

Sir Christopher Sykes, 2nd Baronet (* May 23, 1749; † September 17, 1801 ) was a British politician.

Life

Christopher Sykes was a son of Reverend Sir Mark Sykes, 1st Baronet and his wife Decima ( born Woodham ). He attended Brasenose College, University of Oxford. On 23 October 1770 he married Elizabeth Tatton. The marriage produced three sons and two daughters were born. On September 14, 1783, he succeeded his father as 2nd Baronet. From 1784 to 1790 he represented the constituency of Beverley in the House of Commons. In the elections of 1790, he opted not to run again. After his death in 1801 his eldest son Mark was 3rd Baronet.

The British politician Christopher Sykes is his grandson. Furthermore, the British writer, colonel, politician and diplomat Mark Sykes, 6th Baronet and his great grandson, the British writer Christopher Sykes, the son of the 6th Baronet, his great-grandson.
