The Sirene class was a middle class submarine ship of the French Navy. In the former French type classification it was boats in Class 2 Between 1923 and 1927, four boats were built at A. Chantier de la Loire in Saint- Nazaire. The class is also referred to as the 600 -ton Type A.

Apart from the fall in 1928 in an accident Ondine drove all the boats in the Second World War for Vichy France and were scuttled after the German invasion of southern France in November 1942 in Toulon, in order to escape the clutches of the German Navy. The self- submerged boats were lifted by the Italian navy.
