Sissala East District
The Sissala East District in the northwest of Ghana is one of eight districts in the Upper West Region and in the north has a common border with the neighboring country of Burkina Faso. The district comprises more than one third of the total land area of the Upper West Region.
Population
88% of the population are Sisala, 5% the Kassena, 3% Dagaare and the Mossi 2 %, the remaining 2 % is made up of different ethnic groups.
80 % are Muslims, 10 % Catholics and 5% Trailer traditional religions.
