Sisters in Crime

Sisters in Crime is an international network with the aim to promote crime fiction by women. Among the founders Sara Paretsky heard.

Members are authors, readers, publishers, literary agents, translators, booksellers, librarians and many others - all mystery fans. The concerns of the Sisters in Crime is the equality of women and men in crime.

Networking, inform, support each other - so that takes the organization inequality in the treatment of crime writers opposed and wants more attention for the contribution of women in the Crime genre.

The members exchange ideas about what they read and write, they inform each other about contests and prizes and maintain contacts with other associations.

The German -language section of Sisters in Crime, the German Chapter - Murderous sisters, there are 1996 members as of spring 2007: more than 300 members, mostly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.. In 2007, detachment of the German Chapter of the American organization and renamed Murderous Sisters - Association of German crime writers.
