Sisters of Loretto

The Sisters of Loretto is a Roman Catholic women religious in the United States.

The organization was founded in 1812 in Kentucky by three women Mary Rhodes, Ann Havern and Christina Stuart, together with the " Apostle of Kentucky " Charles Nerinckx. In the following decades, the activity and work of the Sisters expanded, particularly in the southwestern United States with the establishment of Loretto Academy in Santa Fe in New Mexico. The Order founded branches, especially in the rural areas of 16 U.S. states and in the states of Bolivia, Chile, People's Republic of China, Ghana, Peru and Pakistan.
