Sitdjehuti

Satdjehuti (also Sitdjehuti, Satdjehutisatibu [ satellite Djehuti -sat- Ibu ] or Sitdjehutisitibu [ Sit- Djehuti sit- Ibu ] ) was a queen of the late Egyptian 17th Dynasty.

Identity and name

The name of the Satdjehuti occurs once the Turin Shroud the " King's Daughter" Ahmose (Turin 63001 ) from whose grave QV47 in the Valley of the Queens and once with the nickname " Satibu " on her coffin mask ( AES 7163 ) on. On the coffin mask she is titled as the " King's Daughter" and " King's Sister ", and on the shroud additionally as "king consort ". It is both very likely to be one and the same person.

In contrast, it is probably not identical with the Queen Satdjehuti, from a gilded Kartonagemaske is known ( BM 29779 ). She wears there other epithets.

Based on the studies of their coffin mask she died probably before the end of the 17th dynasty.

Name

The name of Satdjehuti means daughter of Thoth. The name of Thoth, also appears in the proper name of the Seqenenre. The word " Ibu " in their nickname is a short form of the Semitic word " abu " meaning father (God). This word occurs again middle of the 18th dynasty in the form of " Ibi " and " Ibaii " and was probably chosen her as a sign of loyalty to the Hyksos. [A 1]

Family

She was a daughter of Tetischeri [A 2] and thus probably of Senachtenre. Furthermore, she was a minor wife of Seqenenre and the mother of the " King's Daughter" Ahmose [A 3].
