SIX Interbank Clearing

SIX Interbank Clearing AG (until November 2008: Swiss Interbank Clearing AG ) based in Zurich is a subsidiary of SIX Group.

SIX Interbank Clearing operates on behalf of the Swiss National Bank since 1987, a payment platform for the processing of domestic and international payments (clearing) in Swiss francs and since the introduction of the euro and of payments in euro. This platform - which includes the interbank payment systems SIC for Swiss francs and euroSIC for euro - are virtually all Swiss financial institutions and a number of banks connected outside of Switzerland. This makes it possible financial institutions around the world, their electronic payments in Swiss francs and euros with Switzerland unwind around the clock in real time.

In conjunction with the main players in the financial center Switzerland SIX Interbank Clearing provides other important services in payment traffic. This includes for example the daily tracking of the master data of the Institute. In addition, it promotes and the Swiss Payments Council through its participation in various committees standardization in the national and international payments (IBAN and SEPA).
