Six-party talks

In the six- party talks will be negotiated on North Korea's nuclear weapons program.

The participating nations are North Korea and its neighbors South Korea, People's Republic of China and Russia, as well as Japan and the United States. The talks are expected to bring about a peaceful solution to the conflict. However, the negotiations are almost boycotted regularity of one of the parties.

North Korea was accused to entertain a secret nuclear weapons program until the North Korean government on 10 February 2005 officially admitted the ownership of operational nuclear weapons and at the same time resigned from the six- party talks. With the help of long-range delivery systems North Korea is able to achieve at least all of its neighboring states, including South Korea.

On 13 February 2007, an agreement signed with the commitment of the North Korean side down, ( including those in Nyŏngbyŏn ) to close all North Korean nuclear facilities in exchange for economic, humanitarian and energy assistance to the value of 1,000,000 tonnes of heavy oil and allow inspections by foreigners. Within 60 days of help more than 50,000 tonnes of heavy oil should first be delivered.

On 14 April 2009, North Korea declared after international criticism of a North Korean missile test his exit from the talks.
