Siyabonga Nomvethe

Siyabonga Nomvethe ( born December 2, 1977 in Durban ) is a South African football player.

Career

Clubs

Siyabonga Nomvethe began his professional career in 1995 with the African Wanderers in the Premier Soccer League, where he played until 1998. From 1998 to 2001 played the striker for South African giants, Kaizer Chiefs, before moving to Europe.

2001 to 2003 he played at Udinese Calcio, then from 2003 to 2004 at Salernitana Calcio and FC Empoli. After the 2004/ 05 season he moved to Sweden to Djurgardens. In Djurgarden Nomvethe still plays, but he returned during the 2005/ 06 season back to an interlude to South Africa and played a few games for the Orlando Pirates. In 2006, the South Africans again in a European League, this time to the Danish club Aalborg BK. After three years left Nomvethe Aalborg BK and returned to his native South Africa, where he joined Moroka Swallows. He then moved to the second FC Paderborn.

National

Since 1999, Siyabonga Nomvethe part of the contingent of South African national soccer team. On 30 April 2010 he was appointed by the South African coach Carlos Alberto Parreira in the extended squad for the Soccer World Cup 2010. From the extended squad he was not deleted. So Nomvethe participated in the 2010 World Cup with the shirt number 18.
