Sjusjøen

Sjusjøen is a Norwegian ski center. It is a part of the community Ringsaker in the county of Hedmark. Is named the place after the east of the town center located homonymous lake.

Geographical location

The village is located about 20 kilometers north-east of Lillehammer in the midst of Hochfjell landscape between the westerly Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen in the east. On the eastern edge of the village is the lake of the same. From Lillehammer you can reach Sjusjøen best of locality Nordseter the neighboring municipality of Lillehammer. From here there is a cross connection to Fylkesvei Fv 2 (no).

Neighboring towns

Within the community Ringsaker Mesnali is the next hamlet on. It is located south of Sjusjøen. Western neighbor, beyond the community and Fylkegrenze is Nordseter.

Attractions / Activities

The area in and around Sjusjøen is very scenic. It mainly offers winter sports enthusiasts some travelers. Of a vast network of trails connects the village to the neighboring villages. The cohesive trail network of more than 2,500 km. There are two cross-country stages are available, both of which are suitable for racing on an international level. The Natrudstilen Arena is the venue of the race of the world's best cross-country skiing. It is used for training camps and competitions.

For Alpine athletes the Sjusjøen Ski Centre is Natrudstilen one of two starting points. It offers a 2.2 km long downhill slope with a height difference of 250 m. Another alpine ski center is the Birkebeinerbakken. Larger alpine ski resorts are primarily the Olympic slopes of Hafjell and Kvitfjell.

In summer, the summer Sjusjøen country is a popular recreational park.
