SK Dolní Kounice

The SK Dolni Kounice is a Czech football club from the South Moravian town of Dolni Kounice. The predecessor club played in the 2002/03 season as FC Group Dolni Kounice in the 2nd Czech league.

His fate is closely linked to the emerging after the collapse of communism in the Czech football Mäzenentum 1990s, in which individual entrepreneurs a hitherto insignificant club brought in professional football, but it ran into financial difficulties and dropped the club.

Club history

Founded in 1921 as SK Dolni Kounice the club played until the mid- 1990s in the lower leagues. His rise was made possible by the two entrepreneurs František Klimes and Miroslav verbs by their company WORLD that went into the club in 1993.

The team won in the 1995/96 season the Moravian přebor and rose to the Divize D, the fourth- highest division. It was renamed the FC Roubina Dolni Kounice, Roubina was another company of Klimes and verbs. Two years later, the team won the Divize D and climbed into the MSFL, the 3rd league on. According to a seventh, eleventh and tenth place Dolni Kounice was now antretend as FC Group, in the season 2001 /02 runners- MSFL and was promoted in the professional league 2. There, however, the team was not competitive, finishing in last place. In the second half of the club was greatly Zahlungsnot, but the championship was ultimately play yet.

The two patrons Klimes and Verba had with their company WORLD bankruptcy and the club could no longer financially support. After the season 2003/ 04, the Dolni Kounice had finished in tenth of MSFL, the club merged with FC Tatran Brno- Kohoutovice on whose system the team had already competed in the second round. Prior to the 2007/ 08 season it came in Dolni Kounice to a new company under the original name SK Dolni Kounice, who started in the lowest league.
