ŠK Futura Humenné

The first HFC Humenné is a Slovak football club from Humenné. It was founded in 1908 as Homonnai Atlétikai Club, short HAC. Between 1993 and 2000, played Humenné in the highest Slovak league, the league Corgoň. 1996 won the club under the name chemlon Humenné the Slovak Cup.

Club history

Founded in 1908, the club reached as TJ chemlon Humenné 1975, the then third-rate Slovak National League SNL. 1977 there was a reorganization of the league structure in the Czechoslovak football, making the SNL was second-rate. Chemlon Humenné held in the following 15 years in the SNL without ever intervene in the promotion battle.

The season 1992/93 was the last season together Czechoslovakia. The first six teams of the now renamed 1 SNFL Slovak National League should ascend into the new first Slovak league. Chemlon Humenné finished fifth and was thus for the first time in the club's history class.

1993/94 could avoid relegation Humenné only due to better direct comparison against the same number of points FC Nitra. The following year was relegated to a second last. In 1996, Humenné the largest ever success, winning the Slovak Football Cup. In the final chemlon Humenné defeated Spartak Trnava 2-1. At the same time they reached the seventh place, the best finish in the first league.

In Europe Cup Winners' Cup 1996/97 the Slovaks defeated in the qualifying round of the Albanian representatives KS Flamurtari Vlora 1-0 and 2-0. In the first round, AEK Athens proved to be too big hurdle. In Athens they lost 0-1 at home with 1:2.

According to an eleventh, ninth and tenth place of the renamed HFC Humenné 1997 Club 1999/2000 were relegated to the second division as Tabellenzwölfter since the first league was reduced from 16 to ten participants.

After moderate performance, the HFC Humenné was 2003/ 04 does not hold in the second division and dismounted. With a 2-1 victory after extra time in the playoff against Tatran NAO Liptovsky Mikulas Humenné succeeded in July 2005, the immediate return to the second league. 2005/ 06 Humenné took eleventh place, 2006/07 after the first round also ranked eleventh.
