Skeleton at the Winter Olympics

Skeleton was the first time in 1928 and 1948, both times in St. Moritz ( Switzerland ), on which the Olympic Winter Games program. After that there was a 54 - year break to the sport in 2002 in Salt Lake City (USA) again was on the program. Since Skeleton Driving is an integral part in the Winter Games. Medals there since 2002 in both the men and the women. Before that there was only competitions for men.

The IOC sets since 2002 laid before each winter games, how many Skeleton driver / inside allowed to participate in the competitions. The FIBT then works out an appropriate qualification mode. It may go to the start at the Olympic competition is not more than three skeleton bob or two Skeleton riders per nation.
