Skellefteå AIK

Skellefteå AIK is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in the city of Skellefteå. The club is one of the "classic" hockey clubs in Sweden and currently plays in the top division.
The football section of the club first came to prominence as Skellefteå AIK FK independently before they renamed in 2006 in Skellefteå FF.
History
The club was founded in 1921 and has since 1943 Hockey in the program, which is an independent club since 1985. Initially the team played in a regional championship in 1955 until it rose to the top division. There you could win the then existing North group and at the end of the championship was the club to second place. Thereafter, the association has developed into a " lift team " who shuttled between the top three leagues. With the establishment of the Elitserien in 1975 as a top division one was there, but then again followed a period with power fluctuations.
Go to the top of 1970, the heyday of the club followed with 10 consecutive years in the Elitserien. The highlight of the season 1977/1978 when they finished the preliminary round as the second, and then in the play -off round won the championship. Three years later, Skellefteå AIK was after the group stage first, but later they lost the semi-finals. The 1985/1986 season had the club in the second division play and then followed by another four years in the Elitserien.
1988 had to deliver against the winner of the second division the club qualifying games. In the deciding match they won away with 10:1, so that one could remain höchstklassig. A year later, Skellefteå AIK could not repeat this performance with the same constellation, and thus followed 16 years in the 2nd league. On 5 April 2006 it was time for a qualifying match, and since this has been obtained, the club played in the 2007/ 08 season in the Elitserien and was there for a 8th place in the preliminary round to the quarterfinals. Once was lost in the season 2010/11 final against Färjestad BK and in season 2011/12 against Brynäs IF, the first place in the preliminary round was in the following season can be achieved and in the playoffs only Brynäs IF, then Linköpings HC and finale Luleå HF are defeated 4-0 games.
