Skhalta Cathedral

Schalta (Georgian სხალთა; sχɑlt ʰ ɑ ) or Qintschauri (Georgian ყინჭაური; qɪnt͡ʃɑʊrɪ ) is a medieval Georgian Orthodox Church from the 13th century. It is located in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, in the municipality Chulo, in the village Qintschauri. The Church of Schalta is a center of the same diocese the Georgian Orthodox Church of the Apostles.

The church Schalta stands on a mountainside. The building is built kuppellos and from the carved stone. On the eastern wall there are three traditional Georgian ornaments with the shape of a cross. Inside, the walls are decorated with frescoes. Around the church there used to be a wall that no longer exists today.
