Ski suit

A ski suit, ski suit in Austria, is a garment that while skiing and certain other winter sports ( sledding, ice skating, etc.) is supported.

We distinguish between two different versions:

  • Two-piece ski suits, the (sometimes anorak ) and pants (the latter sometimes run as dungarees ) consist of a combination of a jacket
  • One-piece ski suits, which are called ski overall or snowsuit. Snowoveralls have lost popularity in the late 1980s and are now seen primarily as winter clothing for children.

Although today still older people wear those ski overall, two-piece ski suits seem to be getting more modern.

Formerly possessed ski suits usually have a water-repellent outer layer of nylon and were usually for the purpose of protection against the cold very thick ( about 5 mm) padded. Today's ski suits are usually equipped with modern (sometimes called " smart" ) materials that are also weather resistant and air permeable (eg Gore- Tex).

Many ski pants have on each leg end of a ridge, and braces, in the professional field protectors are sewn.
