Ski touring

A touring is a special ski that comes with touring used. A touring is usually shorter, wider and softer than a conventional alpine skiing, to facilitate the departure in deep snow and swings in wet snow. He is also lighter than a piste ski, to allow an easier climb, but the ski lost by a driving comfort for the runway, as it is not so hard and stable as the alpine skiing. This, however, comes the touring again benefit in deep snow. An important feature is the higher than for alpine ski hollowed tip that is designed to prevent undercutting in deep snow.

The ascent buckled a ski tour or glued to ski skins on the running surfaces of skis and secures them to the ski tips and often in addition to the tail to prevent slipping. Binding of a touring ski has similar security mechanisms such as an alpine binding and optionally allows a free heel lift for ascent or fixation in the downhill position. Built to be carried separately or climbing aids allow the adaptation to steeper angle of inclination of the climbing track by changing the height of the heel pad. Because of the limited efficacy of Skistoppern in deep snow or on steep Harsch areas often come lanyard used. Climbing skins and touring bindings ermöglichem the tourers to slide into a natural walking motion during the step to ski with low resistance forward without downslope to slip back again the next time step. On particularly hard, so-called harschigem snow, crampons are also used as a climbing aid.
