Skillet (band)

Skillet is an American Christian rock band in the mid- 1990s in Memphis, Tennessee was established. The band's music comes from electronic music to various types of rock and was heavily influenced by the rock band Fold Zandura. Since the album Collide (2003) has a significant realignment of the band took place, which, produced with a new cast hard, but catchy and radio-friendly nu-metal.

Band History

The first album of Skillet appeared in 1996 under the title skillet. At that time, the band still consisted of three members: John Cooper, Trey McClurkin on drums and Ken Steorts on guitar. This compilation remained until the third album ( Invincible, 2000), in which Cooper's wife Korey in the band entered was replaced ( on keyboards ) and guitarist Ken Steorts by Kevin Haaland. Soon after the release of their third album, but also left Trey McClurkin the band and was replaced by Lori Peters and later by Jen Ledger, who not only plays the drums, but eg can be heard at Hero, complete with singing. Even before the release of the fifth album (Alien Youth, 2001) Kevin Haaland left the band again, which is why Ben Kasica joined the band.

On 25 August 2009 the Awake album was released, which debuted in the U.S. album sales chart at No. 2. It contains twelve songs. Hero was released on 19 May 2009 as the first single and Monster on July 14, 2009. Both songs were at WWE Pay-Per- Views as theme songs. The former at " Royal Rumble 2010", the latter with the " Hell In A Cell 2009". Said songs are in the video game WWE SmackDown! vs.. RAW 2010 included. The album was also released with three other pieces as a Deluxe Edition. In February 2011, Ben Kasica left to devote the band to move on to other projects. As a replacement was the guitarist Seth Morrison, who has toured with Justifide and Our Heart's Hero.
