Skin (musician)

Deborah Anne Dyer ( born August 3, 1967 in Brixton, London, England), stage name Skin, is a British singer and front woman of Skunk Anansie. In the meantime, she is active as a solo artist and DJ.

Her stage name comes from her nickname forth from his youth days and originates from the English word skinny, what thin / lean means.

Musical career

Skins family is from Jamaica. As a trained jazz singer, she estimates, for example, Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder, occasionally plays vibraphone and theremin. In 1994, the band Skunk Anansie was founded with skin as lead singer. The band has released seven albums, Paranoid & Sunburnt, Stoosh, Post Orgasmic Chill, Smashes and Trashes, Wonderlustre, Black Traffic and An Acoustic Skunk Anansie Live in London.
