Skinlab

Skinlab is an American groove and nu - metal band from San Francisco, California, founded in 1994, disbanded in 2003 for a short time and was re-established in 2007.

History

The band was founded in September 1995 by bassist and vocalist Steev Esquivel ( Defiance ) and guitarist Mike Roberts. Shortly thereafter met guitarist Gary Wendt and drummer Paul Hopkins joined the band. In the following years, the band recorded some demos and reached by a contract with Century Media. In the label 's debut album Bound, Gagged and Blindfolded in 1997 was published. Following the publication was followed by a tour in which both guitarists emerged from the band. These were replaced by Steve " Snake" Green and Scott Sargeant (ex Lääz Rockit ). With this lineup the Eyesore EP was recorded in 1998. In 1999 the next album followed called disembody: The New Flesh. Shortly before the band recorded their next album, the band, guitarist Sargeant and was replaced by Glen Telford. The album Revolting Room was published in the summer of 2002 and produced by Steve Evetts.

After the release the band went with Superjoint Ritual on a tour of the U.S., followed by an appearance with Soil in England in October. When Esquivel drew upon an injury to the hand, the band had to pause. In the meantime, the members worked on their own projects. In August 2003, Esquivel and Green founded with bassist Rick Valles and drummer Eddy Garcia, the band Def Ignition which in Re soon: Ignition should be renamed. However, Green was playing bass and Esquivel, the electric guitar.

In April 2004, the compilation Nerve Damage was released via Century Media. Then two new songs, which have already appeared EPs, as well as other rare material were included. The album was supposed to provide a foretaste of the next slice, but somehow seemed in Skinlab camp nothing more to go right ahead. Esquivel was also for a time as the new singer of Exodus in conversation and just when you thought that were Skinlab history, the end of 2005 came the message that Esquivel, Green, Roberts and Hopkins are working on new songs.

In the summer of 2007, Crash Music announced that the band had come together again. Guitarist Glen Telford was replaced by Julian Peach (Ex - December ).

In 2009, the album The Scars Between Us was published.
