Skive is a town in the Region Midtjylland, Denmark. She is since 1970 the center of Skive municipality and has 20,503 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013.

Geography

Skive is located about 29 kilometers west of Viborg, 36 km east of Struer and 94 km north- west of Aarhus on Skivefjord, a part of the Limfjord in Jutland. The city is a commune 230.3 km ².

Culture and sights

Southwest of Skive is the open-air museum Hjerl Hede, where you can visit historic homes from the 16th to 19th centuries. To the northwest lies the castle Spøttrup.
