The skomorokhi (Russian Скоморохи, also Skomorochen ) were medieval traveling people entertainers (such as actors, bear trainers, minstrels, acrobats and jesters ). Their performances were accompanied by musical performances on bagpipes, drums, plucked instruments, etc..
