Skorogoszcz
Skorogoszcz ( German: Schurgast ) is a village in the municipality of Lewin Brzeski in powiat Brzeski the Opole Voivodeship on the right bank of the Glatzer Neisse. The Upper Silesian town Schurgast held the city charter until 1945.
Geography
Skorogoszcz is located six kilometers east of the parish seat Lewin Brzeski ( lion ), 20 kilometers southeast of the county town of Brzeg ( Brieg ) and 19 kilometers northwest of the voivodship Opole.
History
In 1271, the city received city rights. 1742 Schurgast became Prussian and 1816 the county Falkenberg OS assigned.
1933 Schurgast 1,096 inhabitants in 1939 counted 1,224 residents of the place. By 1945, the place was in the district of Falkenberg OS
In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Skorogoszcz and assigned to the Wroclaw voivodship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Brzeski.
