SKU Amstetten

The SKU Amstetten is an Austrian football club based in the Lower Austrian district capital of Amstetten.

The club was formed in 1997 from the merger of the former second-rate ASK Amstetten (founded 1932) with the SC Union Amstetten (est. 1946). In the 2007 /08 season the club was relegated to the third- highest division, the Regionalliga on. Only a year later, got back into the Lower Austrian league in which the team finished in 2nd place behind the SC Sollenau. Annually organized the SKU a indoor tournament in the town hall in Amstetten and the international " Josef Leeb Memorial Tournament " for youth teams. He also introduces nine youth teams in the ages U9 to U17 and operates a LAZ ( country training center ) for young people 10 to 14 years, which is released however the CSR wall in the summer of 2010.

Homestead

The SKU Amstetten plays its home games at the Ertl glass Stadium in Amstetten, from. The followers of the SKU, however, still call the venue " Union Square " (former name).

The stadium was completely renovated in 2007 and 2008 and extended and now provides about 600 covered seats on the " Sparkassen- Tribune " (West side ) and 400 covered standing places on the " North Stand ", where the (mainly young people place) supporters of the SKU. Together with additional standing room (partly covered) between the stands and on the eastern longitudinal side of the field results in a total capacity of about 3,000 spectators.
