Skúvoy
Skúvoy [ skʉuvɔi ] or Skúgvoy [ skɪgvɪ ] (literally: Skuainsel - after the gull species Skua - Stercorarius skua ) is one of 18 islands in the Faroe Islands and belongs to the region of the island Sandoy, but forms a municipality of its own. At the same time it has the status of an " outer island " (see Útoyggjar ).

The municipality comprises Skúvoy next to the place Skúvoy also the solitary place Dímun on wholesale Dimun with its 5 inhabitants ( 31 December 2002).
Infrastructure
On Skúvoy, which can be several times a day to reach the little ferry Sildberin of Sandur on Sandoy, there is a school, a shop and a post office, but no restaurant. About the Tourist Office in Tórshavn or Sandur can possibly be taught a private accommodation for tourists. Three days a week is a weekly flight by helicopter to and from Tórshavn. On the island are no cars, only some agricultural vehicles.
