Sky Airlines

Sky Airlines was a Turkish charter airline based in Antalya and based on the Antalya Airport.

Business

Sky Airlines was founded in 2000 and adopted on 12 April 2001 commercial flight operations. The company was a subsidiary of the Turkish tourism group Kayi Group, which also includes the German company GTI Travel heard.

In November 2008, Sky Airlines has successfully passed the two years valid Operational Safety Audit ( IOSA ), IATA.

In December 2012, the Company announced its three Boeing 737-800 returned to the lessor, in February 2013 followed her single Airbus A321 -200, and in April 2013 after all, their single Airbus A320 -200.

In June 2013, the airline introduced because of an inability to pay the operation.

Destinations

Sky Airlines led by charter flights to about 50 destinations in Europe, the Balkans and the Middle East. 2011, scheduled flights within Turkey were offered.

Fleet

As of June 2013 the fleet of Sky Airlines consisted of five aircraft with an average age of 12.1 years:

  • 3 Boeing 737-400
  • 2 Boeing 737- 900ER

Each aircraft in the fleet had a different colored paint on the vertical tail and the company lettering on the fuselage.

Incidents

  • On October 10, 2011, a Boeing 737-400 Sky Airlines crashed with the registration TC- SKF on the Antalya Airport. On landing, the right main landing gear collapsed and subsequently struck the airplane with the right engine on the runway and finally stopped at an angle. The reason for this is to be a burst tire. All 156 passengers were unharmed, the affected aircraft, however, was scrapped.
