Skyscraper was the second of David Lee Roth album published. Roth also took over the production, co-producer was the guitarist Steve Vai.

Genesis

The follow-up album to Eat ' Em and Smile was recorded in Los Angeles from spring to autumn of 1987 in the recording studio The Power Station and the Lion Share Studio. As a sound engineer acted Magic Moreno. Additional recordings were made in the Amigo studio in Los Angeles.

The album was recorded in the same line as its predecessor, but Billy Sheehan left before the subsequent tour, the group and founded Mr. Big. Steve Vai also left the band and joined Whitesnake in 1989.

Charts and successes

Skyscraper peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 Singles Just Like Paradise ( 6th place) and Stand Up ( 64th place ) could be placed on the Billboard Hot 100. Skyscraper Award March 29, 1988 in the U.S. with gold and platinum.
