Slab City

Slab City ( Engl. about: "Disk city " ) is a wild camp in the Colorado Desert of Imperial County in California. In the winter it consists of a few thousand campers, while in summer it attracts most campers in cooler regions in Norden.Der name derives from the concrete slabs ( concrete slabs ) an abandoned military base from the Second World War here.

The next town is Niland, who is about five kilometers south-west. In Slab City itself, there are no shops, no electricity and no running water.

In the vicinity is the Salvation Mountain.
