Sleepy Buildings - A Semi Acoustic Evening is a live album by the Dutch band The Gathering. It was released in 2004 on Century Media.

Creation and publication

Beginning of 2003 was souvenirs already appeared on the band's own label Psychonaut Records, but were The Gathering against Century Media or subject to a further publication. Rather than a simple compilation opted for a semi- acoustic live album with a cross section through the first six studio albums. For Sleepy Buildings - A Semi Acoustic Evening performances were recorded on August 21 and 22, 2003 in Nijmegen. The recordings were mixed by Jan Schuurman, Wouter Nagtegaal, René Rutten and Frank Boeijen and mastered by Paul Schuurman.

Style

For the live album pieces were rearranged from both the Doom and gothic metal phase as well as from the alternative and progressive rock era of the band for acoustic guitar, and increased use of piano and keyboard. Anneke van Bergen singing greed engaged at this quiet and economical instrumented versions even more in the center than usual mood is pensive and melancholy.
