Slide (skateboarding)

Slides are performed by skaters with eg a skateboard at all possible places in Street Skating: At a bus stop on a bench, on a wall or on a so-called Handrail ( railing on a staircase). These include the Tricks: Boardslide, Noseslide, tailslide, Lipslide etc.

The aim of this sporting activity is to use a skateboard or - entlangzurutschen inline skates on the edges of objects or on railings of stairs and the like - most specially prepared with aluminum or plastic tracks. It is important not to perform this glissade with the rollers, but with the underside of the skateboard or inline skates and then land safely back on the rollers.

The longer the glissade and the more acrobatic skill is shown, the better the result.

This discipline is probably the most difficult -to-master skating and is generally regarded as the most injury. In particular, the impact on the edge or railing on which is to be slipped along, can lead to serious injuries such as head injuries, broken bones, bruises, etc.. For this reason, the expert of this subject usually enjoy a high reputation among the other skaters.
