Slipway

A slipway, English slipway, is an inclined plane, can be left in the water on the boats of the country. For this you go with a motor vehicle trailer ( trailer ) or with a special trolley backwards into the water; For this purpose, the light bar of the trailer must be dismantled. If watercraft located on the trailer floats, away from its attachment, the empty trailer can be pulled out of the water. Should the vessel be pulled ashore, this is done in the reverse order.

Briefs or slipways are partly open to the public - not always free of charge - and partly plants private yacht clubs.

If large (heavy ) boats will be pulled from the water or left in the water, the boat slip with rails and one or more rail car ( trolley ) is provided, which are moved by winds. Alternatively boats can also be placed with a crane to water ( craned ).

Slipways are partly used in amphibious vehicles such as hovercraft or amphibious aircraft so that they can roll or slide after the water ride and - landing on land where a more convenient loading and unloading is possible.
