Søllerød Gold Diggers

The Søllerød Gold Diggers are a Danish American football team that is based in Vedbæk (about 20 km north of Copenhagen ).

Club history

On 13 January 2003 Søllerød Gold Diggers were first established as a recreational team. In 2005, she began participating in a competition of the Danish American Football Federation ( DAFF ). After two winless years in the second division, the gold pledged Diggers success coach Kim Ewé and reported in 2007 for the first Danish Division, where she took first place at once, and in the following relegation promotion to the National League, the highest Danish league, perfectly made.

In the years 2008 to 2012, the Gold Diggers each reached the Mermaid Bowl ( the final of the Danish national championship ), where the opponent in each case the Triangle Razorbacks were. In the years 2009 and 2010, the Gold Diggers could win the national title, which they did not allow opposing points both times.

2010 entered the Golddiggers the international stage and took part in the EFAF Cup, where they but equal in the opening game of the Swedish representatives Carlstad Crusaders clearly failed. In 2011 she survived the group stage without losing points and had to get in the semi-finals to London Lightning defeated. Already on the third attempt the Gold Diggers could win the title in the 2012 season, where they had to compete in a purely Danish final against eternal rival Triangle Razorbacks. As EFAF Cup winner, they reported in 2013 for the European Football League, the highest European competition.
