Sloane Square

The Sloane Square is a space between the upmarket London districts of Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea. The course is part of the Hans Town and was designed in 1771 by Henry Holland. The " Town" and the court, as well as a road were named after the physician Hans Sloane.

The site is located at the ends of the known Kings Road and Sloane Street. In the 1980s, the nickname Sloane Rangers was borrowed for scions of the upper-class thereof. At this place there are two notable buildings: The Royal Court Theatre and the department store Peter Jones.

Under the square of the River Westbourne running in iron pipes. There is also the metro station Sloane Square. South of the National Army Museum is located.

In 2005, there were proposals to redesign the square. Among other things, a change in the road layout was inspired to make the place pedestrian-friendly. However, the majority of respondents rejected this plan, which was thus laid to rest.
