Early parliamentary elections in the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia in 1992 for the Slovak National Council in the elections to the Federal Assembly were held on Friday and Saturday, 5 and 6 June 1992. There were to be awarded 150 seats in parliament.
Electoral system
Was elected under the proportional method and there was a restrictive clause of 5 %. The legislature was 4 years since but failed the second future government of Vladimir Meciar in a confidence vote, there were already 1994 elections.

23 political parties and movements competed for election.
Choice
The voter turnout was 84.20 % is still very high, but it was still a significant decrease compared to last election year.
A total of about 3.8 million voters were called upon, on 5 and 6 June 1992 to cast their vote.

After the elections, a coalition of HZDS and SNS, which was the second government of Vladimir Meciar was; so they replaced the " interim government " of Ján Čarnogurský. In the rest of the year 1992, Czechoslovakia was preparing to split; the new Slovak constitution was adopted by the National Council and on September 3, also signed on 1 September 1992. On November 25, 1992, the law on the dissolution of Czechoslovakia was approved by the Federal Parliament; thus was the division in the Czech Republic and Slovakia perfect at midnight on 31 December 1992.
