The parliamentary elections in Slovenia in 2004 was held on 3 October 2004. When choosing the deputies of the National Assembly were re-determined. 1.63 million eligible voters could decide on 88 of the 90 seats in parliament. Two seats were reserved for representatives of the Hungarian and Italian minorities.

Electoral system

The National Assembly was elected under the proportional method. There was a minimum threshold of 4%. The legislature was 4 years.

Election result

The Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS ) was election winner with 29.08 %, which is the strongest party. The Liberal Democracy of Slovenia ( LDS), before most powerful force was still the second largest party with 22.80%. They suffered the greatest losses in the election.
