Smarżowa
Smarżowa [ smarʒɔva ] (pronounced until the end of 1999 Smarzowa, standard polish [ smaʒɔva ] ) is a village in southern Poland in the Subcarpathian Voivodeship in powiat Dębicki, community Brzostek.
History
Smarżowa built in the first half of the 19th century. The place name derives from a personal name, possibly from a Mikołaj Smarz. In the 15th century Smarzowa was owned by the Benedictines. 1581 were Marcin and Rafał Loczków owner of the place which included an area of 3.5 Łan ( nearly 100 hectares). 1629 included only two Łan the village. Around 1790 Jakub Szela was born, who later became the leader of a peasant uprising.
