SME Europe

The SME Europe ( Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Europe) is the official mid-cap and trade association of the European People's Party, based in Brussels. It was founded in May 2012 by the three MEP Paul Rübig, Nadezhda Neynsky and Bendt Bendtsen. In the meantime joined the association many member parties and their affiliated national trade associations, almost from all EU Member States.

Politically the SME Europe uses especially for a reform of the legal framework in the sense of the numerous small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs ) in Europe. The organization also calls on the available EU funds are invested optimally to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises. Through events with partners at European level should be made aware of the special needs of SMEs.

On the part of the Commission shall be assisted by the two Honorary Members Regional Policy Commissioner Johannes Hahn and EU Industry Commissioner Antonio Tajani the organization. In 2013 also were the former Commission President Jacques Santer, former President of Euro Chambres, Christoph Leitl, and former Vice - President of the European Parliament, Ingo Friedrich, awarded an honorary membership.
