Smidary

Smidary ( German Smidar ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north of Nový Bydžov and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Smidary is located on the right side of the Cidlina and Javorka on the East Bohemian panel. To the north rises the Sychrov (265 m), northwest of the Kamenec (266 m) in the west and the Homolka (286 m). Along the Javorka leads the railway line Velky Osek - Trutnov, the station Smidary is an abundant kilometers east of the village. Smidaray is the point of intersection of State Road 280 between Kopidlno and Hořice with 327 of Nový Bydžov after Podhorní Újezd ​​a Vojice.

Neighboring towns are Chotělice in the north, and Ohnišťany Loučná Hora in the northeast, Myštěves in the east, in the southeast Stihňov, Červeněves, Ovčín and Křičov in the south, Smidarská Lhota in the southwest, Vinary in the west and Hrobičany in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Smidary place in the year 1332. During the Hussite Wars, the village was burned in 1424 by Jan Zizka. 1558 sold Zdislava of Wartenberg the festivals Smidary including the village in the parish church of Christoph Sylwar of silver stone. This could renew the water-resistant at the Cidlina. 1562 brought the Emperor Ferdinand I. Smidary to Mediatstädtchen and gave the place a coat of arms. After the Wartenberger follow as the owner, inter alia, Magdalena Trček of Lobkowicz, Albrecht of Wallenstein, and after his assassination by the year 1851, the Counts of Colloredo.

After the abolition of patrimonial Smidary formed from 1850, market town in the district of Nový Bydžov. In 1870 the Austrian North Western Railway opened its main line Great Wossek - Trautenau. In 1882 Smidary was the starting point of the local railway to Hochwessely ( Vysoke Veseli ). 1891 acquired the Čžjžek Smidaich of the goods. 1910 Smidar became a town and had 1,934 inhabitants.

1948, the city rights of Smidary were not renewed. Since 1961 Smidary belongs to Okres Hradec Králové. In the same year Červeněves, Loučná Hora and Křičov were incorporated. 1980, was added Chotělice. The railway line Smidary - Vysoke Vesely was decommissioned in 1976.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Smidary Červeněves (Roth village), Chotělice ( Chotielitz ) Křičov ( Kritschow ) Loučná Hora ( Wiesberg ) and Smidary ( Smidar ) and the settlement Ovčín ( sheepfold ).
