Smreczyna

Smreczyna ( German Schoenau b. Mittelwalde ) is a village in the south of the powiat Kłodzki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. It belongs to the municipality Międzylesie ( Mittelwalde ), from which it is two kilometers to the south.

Geography

Smreczyna is located in the extreme south of the Glatzer boiler at the top Glatzer Neisse. Through the village, the road leads 33 Kłodzko Boboszów. Neighboring towns are Międzylesie in the north, Dolnik in the northeast, Pisary in the east, in the southeast and Boboszów Kamieńczyk in the West. Across the border to the Czech Republic, which runs south-west, lie the Bohemian towns Mladkov and Lichkova.

History

Schönau was created in 1530 as a series of village and parish church was dedicated to Mittelwalde. It belonged to Habelschwerdter district in Glatzer country with which it shared the story of his political and religious affiliation. After the Silesian Wars, it came along with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. As part of the Prussian reforms serfdom in 1807 with the October Edict repealed. After the reorganization of Prussia Schönau belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the county Habelschwerdt to which it belonged until 1945. Since 1874 it was the administrative district incorporated Mittelwalde, which included the rural communities Bobischau, village boundaries, Herzogswalde, Rothflössel, Schreibendorf, Schonthal and Steinbach. 1939 counted 384 inhabitants.

As a result of World War II 1945 Schoenau like almost all of Silesia fell to Poland and was renamed Smreczyna. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. The population declined significantly in the postwar years. From 1975-1998 Smreczyna belonged to the province Wałbrzych.

Attractions

  • On the western side of the street stands a stone figure group of the Pietà with mourning women.
