Snatam Kaur

Snatam Kaur Khalsa ( Punjabi: ਸਨਾਤਮ ਕੌਰ ਖ਼ਾਲਸਾ; born 1972 in Trinidad, Colorado, United States) is an American singer and songwriter, pop music with religious influences from the Sikhism makes, called Kirtan. She lives in Española, New Mexico.

Education and work

Growing up in California learned Snatam Kirtan from her mother. In high school, she learned to play the violin and began composing his own songs. Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead coached her and her classmates for the song Saving the Earth for Earth Day Concert in San Francisco. She then studied Kirtan at the teachers of their mother, Bhai Hari Singh.

Kaur has a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and also works as a food technician in Eugene, Oregon.
