Becoming X

Under the project name Line of Flight and Frisk, they released two EPs soon on the then fairly new Clean Up record label. Although the Ur - Sneaker Pimps were inspired by their musical creativity by the dance, but they wanted to create song -oriented structures. Subsequently some demo songs were recorded, in which Chris took over the vocal part. Ian Pickering, a friend from the old days of youth, was also involved in the recording and writing of the pieces. In addition, singer Kelli Dayton (now as Kelli Ali active) for the recordings was brought on board because they wanted to miss the songs a female, melodic flair. This resulted Becoming X, the debut album, which was the international breakthrough for the - brought the project Sneaker Pimps - actually temporarily planned. For the production were responsible for, among other things, Nellee Hooper and Marius de Vries who were already involved in the first Björk albums; this is particularly noticeable on the success of the single " 6 Underground". The style of the album is often referred to as trip -pop, because there are many trip hop includes elements in the rhythm, but is much less gloomy.

In response, the Sneaker Pimps embarked on a worldwide tour that took them mainly by the United States. The tour is considered to be typical of the rock'n'roll lifestyle, and the band then took several years regeneration. She separated again by singer Kelli Dayton.

Splinter

In 1999, the follow-up album was released with Splinter, on which guitarist Chris Corner sings for the first time. Also the sound of the band was barely recognizable. With the exception of a more aggressive songs, all pieces are dominated by the acoustic guitar, the drums acts restrained against heavy bass lines, keyboard sounds and film music samples round off the sound. Despite excellent reviews, the album was - probably because of his constant melancholy mood - not a commercial success.

Bloodsport

2002 then appeared after three years of break the third studio album called Bloodsport, which brought back many musical changes. Although many songs were similar to the style of Splinter, the album seems nevertheless beat -oriented and aggressive. For example, the title track Bloodsport a flawless house track, while included in the opener Kiro TV especially rock elements.
