Snowdonia

Snowdonia ( Welsh: Eryri; dt: Eagle's Nest ) is a region in north Wales and is protected as a national park. It is known for its spectacular mountain ranges and a popular destination for tourists. The English name is derived from the highest mountain in Wales ', the 1085 m high Snowdon. The Welsh name ( Eryri ) comes from the word Eryr ( dt: eagle).
