SOCATA TB family

The SOCATA TB Series is comprised of various four-to five-seat light aircraft of the French manufacturer Socata, Groupe Aerospatiale. The variants of the series have been produced since the late 1970s.

History

Output pattern was the TB 10, which was designed to complement the successful Morane -Saulnier Rallye and later replaced them. The prototype made ​​its maiden flight on 23 February 1977 in Tarbes. The second prototype as TB 11 is housed a Lycoming engine having a relation to the first prototype having a higher performance with a 20 hp 180 hp. From 1979, the TB 10, the variants of the TB 10 Tobago was named, received names that begin with a "T".

As a cheaper entry-level variant, the nearly identical, but less powerful TB 9 Tampico was developed. This had its maiden flight on 9 March 1979. A more powerful version with fixed landing gear, the TB 200 Tobago XL, flew on 27 March 1991 for the first time.

The first, launched on November 14, 1980 TB 20 Trinidad differs mainly by the retractable landing gear and the ability to use advanced than IFR training aircraft. The Trinidad TC uses the same engine with 186 kW ( 250 hp), but this has an additional turbocharger.

For the TB 10, a diesel engine powerplant set of Société de Motorisations Aéronautiques had been provided, but did not play. Equipped with modern GPS navigation systems, this aircraft meets all the requirements of a modern utility aircraft.

On the basis of the two -seat trainer TB 10 TB 30 Epsilon and TB were later constructed 31 Omega, but differ markedly in appearance from the other TB Series.
