Social Science Research Council

The Social Science Research Council ( SSRC ) is a company incorporated in 1923 in Manhattan, now based in Brooklyn Heights, independent and non-profit U.S. organization for the promotion of research in the social sciences and related disciplines. Its current president is Craig Calhoun.

Currently, the SSRC operates in four key areas: the public, to migration, to global security and cooperation and knowledge institutions. Among the topics of about twenty active programs within these subject areas include the privatization of risk, international migration, the media reform, Religion and International Affairs and the HIV / AIDS in Russia, Africa and in the world.
