Société Bic

The BIC Group is a publicly traded French company (WKN: 860 804 and ISIN: FR0000120966 ) and the world's largest manufacturers of pens ( since 1950 ) disposable lighters ( since 1973) and disposable razors (since 1976). Since July 2008, disposable cell phones are offered. The company was founded in 1945 by Baron Marcel Bich in Paris.

The company also owns the subsidiary Tipp-Ex, the so-called White is used for correcting paper writings. In addition, the subsidiary BIC Sport, one of the world's largest manufacturer of surfboards, whose products are also marketed under the brand name Tabou.

In Italy, Greece, France and Luxembourg, the word " Bic " has become a generic name for a (disposable) pens.

From 1967 to 1974, the company's main sponsor and namesake of the cycling team Equipe Cycliste was Bic.
