Aluminium sodium sulphate (E 521, Natronalaun ) is an alum of the composition NaAl ( SO4) 2 · H2O 12, which is used as a firming agent and acidulant and an acidity regulator.

Properties
Sodium aluminum sulphate is a colorless solid and a mixed salt of sulfuric acid containing sodium and aluminum as metals.
Safety
The salt is irritating to skin, eyes and mucous membranes and may cause eczema. It is suspected of causing allergic reactions and therefore is not recommended by the frequent consumption. Moreover, it is to trigger Alzheimer's disease due to aluminum stress on the body in suspicion.
