Sogrape

Sogrape ( Sogrape Vinhos SA) is a Portuguese company that specializes in the trade of wine and dessert wine. Sogrape the largest wine trading company in Portugal and one of the largest port companies worldwide.

History

Sogrape was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes as " Sociedade Comercial dos Grandes Vinhos de Mesa de Portugal ". The first product was the rosé Mateus. The international success of this wine, which is the best selling wine in Portugal today, was the foundation for the expansion of the company, through acquisitions of numerous wineries and brands (including Sandeman, Ferreira) grew continuously.
